Sunday was both Father's Day and Joe's 2nd birthday. So, we celebrated both, along with a few others, on Saturday. Our boy got nice and dirty playing with his cousin and the pink sidewalk chalk in the backyard before we even ate.

After lunch it was time for presents. Joe was very generously showered with quite a few gifts.

He got a wooden stick horse from Aunt Vicki and Uncle James to go with the cowboy hat he got for Christmas. We even brought the hat with us but forgot it in the car.
Grandma and Grandpa gave him buckets and shovels for the park and beach, which he carried all around the apartment yesterday while he waited for us to go to the beach. They were a big hit once we got there too. He equally loved this flight jacket, even refusing to take it off for a while. Here he is posing with my sunglasses on, having to pucker his lips to try and keep them up!

We got him his first bike, a red retro style tricycle. He is still getting used to peddling it. He sure loves the bell though!

And of course, there was cake. Chocolate cupcakes all around!
He went for his 24 month check up at the doctor's today. He measures up at 37 1/4" tall (off the charts), and about 32 pounds (90%). He did NOT want to stand on the scale, so it is a best guess. He wasn't too happy about it as he was pretty tired. He even fell asleep in my arms as soon as he got off the table from being measured until the doctor came in.

Happy Birthday Joe! I can't believe he is two already. He is such a darling little boy and is a great big brother.
Man, Joe's a lucky little 2 year-old, getting a red tricycle AND a cool stick horse!! I wish I had a stick horse.
