Every year, Long Beach plays host to the IRL, ALMS, Toyota Pro Celebrity Challenge, Formula Drift, and other race leagues. In short, this weekend is the Long Beach Grand Prix. Thankfully the Long Beach Press Telegram has been putting free vouchers for Friday passes into their paper for the past few weeks. This means that Joseph and I were able to attend the grand prix today for a total of $0.25. $15.25 if you count parking. Not too bad when you consider that a single ticket for today would have cost $26.
Joseph made sure to wear his ear protection whenever we were outside. When we were inside, Joseph was all business about finding his own personal race car.
First we found this cool little Formula Five racer. These cars are designed for 3-5 year-olds. They can even reach up to 5 mph! We soon headed to find something with a little bit more power.
Which led us to this! Joseph was very excited to climb in and turn the steering wheel. As soon as Joe climbed out, one of the event staff came over and placed a sign in the car saying to please not climb in. At least we got our picture.
I don't know why but Joe was very excited about this Corvette. I must admit that it was really cool looking.
