Grandma's Cookbook

I was recently given a few of my grandma, great grandma, and GG grandma's cookbooks. In each book there are quite a few recipes that have been written in (on pretty much any blank space throughout the books) or have been cut out of the newspaper/magazine and glued in. The recipe below is written in my grandma's handwriting (I think!) and is called, "Mom's Chocolate Cake." I'll have to try it soon. Copied exactly.

2 cups flour-sifted

1 tsp soda

1 tsp B.P.

1/4 tsp salt

4 tbsp butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg unbeaten

1/3 cup cocoa

1 cup sour milk

1 tsp vanilla

cook slow 375 degrees.
